A traditional Odenwald restaurant with homemade cooked cheese, apple wine, etc. - the dishes taste good. The price-performance ratio used to be right. Today the prices are unfortunately excessive e.g. for a normal schnitzel with a dollop of cooked cheese € 15.60 - that's city standard. And if you want a pickle for a farmer's breakfast, which used to be a natural part of it, you pay € 0.70 extra. An unpleasant development that made us visit other restaurants first.

We have been coming to the locality for many years (33) and have always been so well served. Today we had an experience that was very disappointing. The service was very friendly as always, but we didn't understand the reaction to a rump steak that was ordered and brought through. It was taken for granted by the host. My husband is a restaurateur himself, but he has never experienced such a handling. The main thing is that sales are right ... The extras of one € were also calculated. A lot of friends and acquaintances went to eat there on recommendation. What happened to a guest's estimate ????

The lovingly tended garden speaks for itself; the food and its ambience: that's exactly what I mean by well-tended country inn cuisine. Well sized portions; The quality of the food was good: you could have fun with it !!!

Super Schnitzel with Swish eaten there. Even under corona conditions, relax. Friendly staff who are very serious about the Hessian corona rules. Hats off!

We have been visiting the "Roman Emperor" for several decades and love to come here again and again. Just getting there is worth a stop here. We enjoy Odenwald specialties in the middle of the rustic, cozy atmosphere of an old half-timbered house. The guest room is relatively large but still doesn't look like a hall because it is beautifully angled. You will find cozy niches, defined by old half-timbered beams, in which you like to sit with friends. The service staff are friendly and very attentive; the ordered food and drinks are always brought to the table as quickly as possible. If you want to stay longer or want to explore the Odenwald more extensively, you can inquire about free rooms in the affiliated guesthouse. We look forward to the next time.

Rarely fed such a good rump steak. The meat was cooked to the point. Not everyone can do that ......
